With its sandy beaches, museums and other places of interest, not to mention numerous activities for young and old, there’s something for everyone.
The beaches of La Baule
La Baule boasts a large beach running the length of the town, stretching for almost 8km to the Pornichet marina.
This beach is renowned for its fine sand, and is even referred to by locals as “the most beautiful beach in Europe”.
It’s ideal for a relaxing day out with the family, but also for those wishing to learn the joys of water sports, in particular sailing, paddling and catamaran sailing.
The first section of the beach, at Le Pouliguen, is called Plage du Nau and is separated from the main section by the mouth of the Grand Étier du Pouliguen.
This small beach offers a very tranquil setting for those who like to relax first and foremost.
The main section is divided into 3 beaches:
- Benoît beach on the other side of the Grand Étier at Le Pouliguen
